The City of Los Angeles Updates Its Renter Protections Notice

Effective July 1, 2024, the City of Los Angeles has updated its Renter Protections Notice.  A copy of the new notice can be found here: https://housing2.lacity.org/protectionsnotice.

According to the Los Angeles Housing Department (LAHD) website:

“Beginning January 27, 2023, a landlord must have the Notice of Renters’ Protections posted on all residential properties in an accessible common area of the property. This Notice must also be given to tenants who begin or renew their tenancy on or after January 27, 2023. … In any action by a landlord to recover possession of the residential real property, the tenant may raise it as an affirmative defense.”
